Tricky Tray!!

It is that time again!
Our class is preparing PIZZA PARTY basket for this year's PTA Tricky Tray.  Mrs. Savage is kind enough to organize our class' basket.  A letter from her was sent home yesterday, hopefully everyone has had a chance to read it.

Mrs. Savage also created a site:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508044DAFA82AAA8-mrs
When you have a moment, please check it out-it is a great way to organize the various items the children will be bringing in.

Our class is very excited about our basket, and the PTA does so much to help our school, this is a great way to return the favor!

Social Studies Project

Students were assigned a project earlier today.  As you know, we have been studying the Lenape tribe and how they lived in New Jersey.  We also discussed their types of homes-the wigwam and longhouse.  For this assignment, sturdents are to create a model longhouse or model wigwam.
The Native Americans used what the could from nature to build these homes, and I encourage the children to use what they can find around them (sticks/grass), however, I do not want the children digging around in the cold and snowy conditions.  Please improvise as you feel fit.  Clay and construction paper can help with this assignment as well!
Please look for their instruction packet that will be coming home today. I am asking that all parents sign the instructions and return them by Tuesday, 1/28.  This will count as a homework grade.
The final project is due on Tuesday, 2/4 and will be counted as a test grade.
Please check back on the blog over the weekend for some sites and videos that may help with this assignment.  There is also a list of links on their instructions that you may find helpful.  As always-the students may use their Social Studies texts to assist them!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions!  The children seem pretty excited about this project!
Have a great weekend!
